Toledo Symphony Corporate Giving Associate
The Corporate Giving Associate will be part of a 3-person development team responsible for raising contributed income for the Toledo Symphony Orchestra (TSO). This position will secure support from the business community including sponsorships and gifts to the Annual Fund. Annually, the TSO produces a concert/music event with substantial community involvement. The Corporate Giving Associate will have significant responsibility for expanding business and community support for the annual production.
Celebrating its 70th Anniversary Season, the Toledo Symphony is the musical heart of northwest Ohio. TSO musicians perform over 400 music events annually and more than 80% of them teach music lessons in local schools, the Toledo Symphony School of Music, and their private teaching studios. Loyal patrons and donors together with long-standing business and community partners are the foundation of the Toledo Symphony providing support for concerts and music education programs though a variety of activities including ticket purchases, donations, and collaborative projects.
- Primary staff member responsible for maintaining and expanding relationships with the business community
- Secure a minimum of $660,000 from this source annually through programs of acquisition and renewal
- Manage business donor recognition activities
- Work on special projects and efforts that contribute to the organization's fundraising goals
Qualifications & Skills
- Record of success in building and securing resources and support from the community
- Record as an exceptional communicator; adept at writing a variety of donor correspondence, promoting TSO's community impact, and conversing with diverse constituencies
- Proven project management and teamwork skills
- Ability to maintain a flexible schedule to attend select evening and weekend concerts and community events
- Proficiency using current technology and self-sufficient in managing daily administrative work
- Bachelor’s degree
This is a full-time exempt position. Salary is budgeted for an individual at the early to mid-career level.

All Marketing internships are currently filled. We are now accepting applications for Fall 2013.
The Toledo Symphony has limited availability every summer and during the concert season for high school and collegiate internships.
All opportunities are unpaid and require an application process initiated 60 days prior to the desired start date of the internship. These opportunities can be customized to meet students needs and school expectations in the areas of development, marketing, concert production and general arts management.
