DESCRIPTION:The Symphony presents a program of promise and prosperity—both things Antonin Dvorak saw when he visited the United States in the late nineteenth century. His New World Symphony is paired with Sibelius’ Violin Concerto, performed by Chinese virtuoso Tianwa Yang. From the old “new world” to the new, classical music continues to transcend and grow.
