Naomi H. Guy is the Associate Concertmaster for the Toledo Symphony. Prior to this position Ms. Guy was the Concertmaster of the Mansfield Symphony in Ohio for five seasons. She has also held contracts with the Wheeling Symphony as Associate Concertmaster, the Honolulu Symphony, Akron Symphony, Canton Symphony and the New World Symphony in Florida, under the direction of Michael Tilson Thomas. She has toured extensively throughout Europe and Japan with the Schleswig-Holstein Musik Festival Orchestra, the Pacific Music Festival Orchestra, and the New World Symphony. Ms. Guy received an ARCT Diploma from the Mount Royal Conservatory in Canada, as a pupil of the Canadian violin teacher Dr. Lise Elson, a Bachelor of Music degree in violin performance from the University of Minnesota as a pupil of the renowned teachers Dr. Roland and Almita Vamos, and a Master of Music in baroque violin from the Oberlin Conservatory as a pupil of eminent Early Music specialist Marilyn McDonald. In addition she has also performed in prestigious Master Classes for Josef Gingold, Franco Gulli, Janos Starker and William Preucil. 
Ms. Guy has received numerous prizes in violin competitions, in particular, First Prize in both the Schubert Club Competition in Minneapolis and the Canadian Music Competition, Montreal. As a soloist, Ms. Guy has had many solo performances with orchestra; recently, highlights have been the Barber Concerto and the Mozart K. 216 Violin Concerto with the Mansfield Symphony, under the former Music Director Andrew Sewell. As an accomplished Baroque violinist she has performed, recorded and toured with Apollo’s Fire [Cleveland’s Baroque Orchestra], Tafelmusik Baroque Orchestra [Toronto, Canada] the Boston Bach Ensemble, Publick Musick [Rochester, NY], the Pittsburgh Camerata, and the San Francisco Bach Choir. In addition she recorded with the Hollywood Studio Symphony for the Walt Disney soundtrack to the movie Casanova. Ms. Guy can be heard as a soloist in the Vivaldi Four Violin Concerto with Apollo’s Fire on the Eclectra label. Ms. Guy performs annually with the Carmel Bach Festival, California, under the direction of Music Director Bruno Weil.
