Frequently Asked Questions

Can I bring my children?

Yes, all children are invited to a TSO concert. As most of our concerts are around you children's bedtimes, we suggest the Mercy Health Partners Family Series. This series allows parents to bring children to the Peristyle Theater and enjoy a hands-on concert with educational activities. The events begin at 2PM, allowing ample time for afternoon naps, but ending around 4PM to ensure we keep the children engaged.

How long is a typical performance?

Most concerts generally last about 2 hours. Each half is about 45 minutes with a 10 minute intermission. Family series concerts last about an hour with pre-concert activities beginning around 2PM, if you wish to participate.

What should I wear?

Even though mom still says you should wear your best suit and gown, we know better. Please come in whatever you are comfortable wearing, preferably not your Spongebob pajama pants, but we want you to be able to enjoy the event without feeling stuffy. Some patrons take this as an opportunity to pull out their best outfits while others come in a nice shirt and pants. However you wish to attend is fine by us.

When should I arrive?

30 minutes is usually enough time to park and get situated. Will Call and the Box Office are many times packed with students or last minute ticket buyers. Please give yourself at least an hour if you need to purchase a ticket. The museum is open and free to the public before all concerts if you wish to check out the latest exhibit, or have a quick bite at the Cafe. The Toledo Club offers drinks and hors d'oeuvres to purchase for anyone interested before all Chamber concerts.

Can I bring my cell phone?

Even though you might be waiting on an important call or want to check the latest scores, we request you keep all phones silenced and put away. The bright light within the dark hall is distracting to people around you, and any loud noises could disrupt the performance.

Can I take pictures?

The use of any recording devices, including cameras, is not permitted at any time. We are working to enhance your experience with audio and visuals on our website. Please visit our Media Center for any recordings and videos.
