Toledo Symphony Youth Orchestra Auditions
New Member Audition Dates Coming Soon!
Seating Auditions – to determine which orchestra you will perform in, and your seat within the section
- When: - August 15-18th, 3-8PM. To schedule an audition please call 419.418.0050 after August 1st. - If student cannot attend audition times listed please call 419.418.0050 as soon as possible to coordinate an alternate time.
- Where: -Symphony Space (1838 Parkwood Avenue-across street from Toledo Art Museum)
- What to Prepare: - No more than 6 minutes from two contrasting sections of a solo, etude, or excerpt of the student's choosing. It is advised that the student consult with their private teacher on repertoire selection.
- What to Bring: -Tuition, or proof of Tuition Waiver (information on Tuition Assistance will be sent directly to students)
Concerto Auditions– for students who wish to perform a solo with the TYO
- When: -Sunday, September 26, 1:00-5:00pm -Students must fill out the Concerto Audition Application form found online and return to Mrs. Dorothy Coats, Orchestra Manager, by September 13th.
- Where: -Symphony Space (1838 Parkwood Avenue-across street from Toledo Art Museum)
- What to Prepare: -A movement of a concerto or equivalent, not to exceed 10 minutes unless prior approval from the conductors has been given. This must be the piece you intend to play with the orchestra.
- What to Bring: -One numbered copy of your music for the judges
- Please Note: -There is no fee to audition, but you must provide your own accompanist.
