Musically Me Music and Movement Infant–Age 8

Fairy Tale Adventures

Popular music from favorite animated movies about super heros, princesses, beasts, and beauties will be the source material for this dynamic class. Enjoy bonding with your child while moving, singing, playing instruments, dancing, finger plays and much more!

Each four-week session is unique, but one thing is for sure: you and your child will have a great time learning about and experiencing music! This class is for infants and toddlers through 8 years-old, with adult caregiver.

Tuition for each four-week session is $45. Siblings enrolled in the same class for the same session receive a $15 discount.

PLEASE check class location: Tuesday and Wednesday are at the Professional Building, 1838 Parkwood Avenue in Toledo (Parkwood). Thursday classes are at Toledo Ballet, 5327 Monroe Street in Toledo (Nantucket).

Introduction to Ukulele Ages 6+

Just picture it: A beautiful summer night, a bonfire, and all your friends roasting marshmallows to the sound of this amazing instrument! Learn to tune, play scales, chords and basic strumming techniques. Students are required to bring a Ukulele to class.

Chamber Camp!

Playing in a group is a great way to develop new skills and make new friends. Join us for a challenging, yet motivating week working with members of the TSO family. Expect daily rehearsal time, coachings, and seminars. Showcase what you learned on the recital Saturday, July 27 (10 a.m.) Pre-formed groups are encouraged to apply, or you will be placed in an appropriate level class. Music will be sent to you in June so you can be prepared for your first day of camp! Repertoire will be determined based on level and instrumentation of those enrolled. Anticipated ability is that of Suzuki mid-Book 2 and above, approximately ages 10-18.

Chamber Ensemble

Do you want to play in a chamber group, but are out of town the week of camp?
Are you over the age of 18 and want to play in your own group?
We may be able to accommodate you! Receive 6 hours of coaching for $100, scheduled at the convenience of your coach and your group.

Fiddle Camp

It’s not all about Classical Music! Come to Fiddle Camp and learn fun fiddle tunes and techniques. Classes will be scheduled in a “camp” format, meeting daily for six consecutive days. On the final day of camp, August 3, all fiddlers  will  meet from 9–9:45 before traveling off site to showcase their hard work. Music will be available with ample time to learn and memorize before camp week. Levels: Mid-Book 1 and up!

Number of Classes: 5+ performance

*Jr. Fiddle is appropriate for students studying “Perpetual Motion” in Suzuki Book 1, through “Two Grenadiers” in Book 2, or equivalent level, or by permission of teacher.

*Advanced Fiddle is appropriate for students studying “Witches’ Dance” and beyond in the Suzuki Violin Books, or equivalent with permission of the instructor.

Viola for Violinists

Don’t be fooled by how similar they both look! Sign-up for a fun introduction to the Viola and find out how similar or different they are! This class is geared towards high-school students; younger students may register upon recommendation of private instructor.

Music Appreciation Adults 21+

Do you desire a deeper dive into the upcoming works of the 2019-2020 TSO season? Once again this summer, we will stretch your musical knowledge while introducing you to members of our musical community. Musicians, staff, and special guests will share what excites them about featured works. Expect to hear stories, listen to samples and have a great time with like-minded music aficionados! Featured topics include “Humor in Music”, “Where’s That Sound”, “From the Ring to Star Wars”, and more!

Private Lessons

New and beginning students are invited to work one-on-one work with a private instructor this summer. Returning students may sign up for as many lessons as agreed upon with your teacher. New TSSM students will be placed with a teacher once their registration form has been received. Lessons are offered in 30, 45, and 60-minute increments.

Instruments: Suzuki violin, viola, cello, flute, harp, & piano. Contact the office for additional instruments.
Time: Scheduled directly with your private teacher
Tuition: $28.50/30 minute lesson
$40.25/45 minute lesson

  • Submit the registration form along with payment to the address listed below.

Registering for Private Lessons

  • Current TSSM students: Please discuss summer lessons with your teacher BEFORE filling out a registration form. Once the form is complete, return with payment to the TSSM office PRIOR to your first lesson.
  • New TSSM students: Complete the registration form to the best of your ability, leaving the number of lessons blank. Once your form has been received, the office will work to place you with a teacher, who will contact you directly to arrange lesson time and start date. At that point, total tuition will be figured. One month’s tuition is due PRIOR to your first lesson.
